History of CLSU

The Central Luzon state University or CLSU is a state academic institution located in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, 150 km north of Manila.

It started as a farm school named Central Luzon Agricultural School or CLAS in 1907 published by the then Governor of the Province of Nueva Ecija, James F. Smith.

CLAC became the Central Luzon State University in 1964 adapting the idea: “University shall primarily give professional and technical training in agriculture and mechanic arts besides providing advanced instruction and promoting research in literature, philosophy, the sciences, technology and art”.

It has been more than 100 years since its establishment. Now, CLSU contributes to the global society producing quality graduates every year.

History of USHS

USHS stands for University Science High School. It as established by CLSU Board of Regents in 1976 as a prime school for students who wish to pursue their interest in technology and science. Now in its more than four decades of existence, though a small unit in the University under the College of Education, the USHS has been an asset and will always be an asset continuously giving its share in making CLSU a bold name in the academic world where science and technology front the line in its educational thrusts by producing quality graduates.

Academic support system

The school system of USHS is supported by the school of education of CLSU.

Teaching System

1. obtained at least 80% grade average on his/her Grade 6 1st grading period as shown on his/her Form 138-A (Report Card) or certified by the class adviser, and

2. Passed the entrance examination administered by the University Science High School.Only the top 80 examinees and the top 10 addendum whose applications for enrollment have been approved will be accepted as Grade 7. Addendum are identified children of the CLSU faculty and staff.
