What is SEA-Teacher Program?
SEA-Teacher Program is Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia. The program is provided by SEAMEO (The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization), a regional intergovernmental organization established in 1965 for the purpose of regional cooperation in education, science and culture among Southeast Asian countries.
Background
To provide opportunity for preservice student teachers among universities in Southeast Asia to do their practicum (teaching experiences) in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia.
Objectives
1. To enable pre-service student teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy.
2. To encourage the pre-service student teachers to practice their English skills.
3. To allow the pre-service student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view.
