On Saturday, we arrived at Baguio city which known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines located in the mountainous area of the Northern Luzon, the Philippines.

11:00 Burnham Park

We first walked around the area to see how the city is like. During the time, we saw a nice lake where people were riding boats and have fun on the lake. We decided to do the same and lend a boat. It was good to be in the mood with everybody and I felt our friendship got closer on the boat!

11:30 Baguio Cathedral

15 minutes walk from the park, we arrived at Baguio Cathedral, a Roman Catholic cathedral. The magnificent view stood out even from far places. Inside was beautiful as well as the outside with stained glass windows. I am lucky to have this experience to visit the place and learn part of the Philippino culture.

12:00 Good Taste Café & Restaurant

Stir fry with pork

We had lunch at Good taste café & Restaurant. There was a long line before and even after we had lunch outside the restaurant. According to our coordinator, the line lasts until night. I was surprised and wondered how workers manage this crowd every day since the restaurant opens 24/7. The taste, as it is the name of it, was delicious. I felt it closer to Japanese taste compared to what I eat in the Campus back in Munoz.

13:00 Guest House

on the wall, it had Japanese teaching principals called 5S, Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shituke.

The guest house was our place to stay. There were several houses like ours and according to our coordinator Ms.Hiyasmin, they were originally built for teachers who had teaching training in the area. I was shocked that it was built about when American colonialism began. Unlike its length of the history, the house seemed well maintained and it was a good experience to live with our staffs and teacher friends in one house.

15:00 Town exploring

Full of people in the beautiful town
My friend found a loving dog on the way

After taking rest at the guest house, we went for town touring. We saw many souvenir shops and found each favourite souvenirs. Since it was on a mountain, we witnessed beautiful sceneries entire time. This was one of the places that id like to visit again in the future!

19:00 Dinner at the mall

After town exploring, we went to a big mall which was close to our gest house. We found a Philippino restaurant there and had a big meal together with or coordinators. It was a long day but the meal made us really happy.
